Hello to all y’all. My name is Kerry and I am proud to say I’m an NB East Coaster; born, raised and rooted. You can find me in the picturesque southeast cornor of New Brunswick. However; my beginnings were in a small town on the beautiful North Shore of NB. I will say that our history, slang sayings, culture, traditions, lifestyle, people and all things coastal are what truly inspire me through life. “I absolutely love my east coast heritage and I love to hear all our slang sayings”. So talk slang to me!
My East Coast Beginnings
My heritage is both Irish and Irish/Scottish but the Irish part is my big influencer. My family first emigrated to PEI (East Point) and NB(Waterford) from Kildare and Tipperary County, Ireland; in the eary 1700’s. My ancestry research tells me they were one of the earliest pioneer families homesteading in Rexton NB. They were shipbuilders and millwrights by trade and opportunity soon took them to the Gaspe Coast, Quebec. So this is my connection to the East Coast of Canada. Share yours with me. Just maybe our ancestors worked side by side?
Mission
So you see; my mission here is about connectin’, gatherin’ and creatin’ a community of East Coasters. And…to celebrate our heritage and reminisce about the old and the new slang sayings we all know so well! Tag along with me!
