East Coast Heritage

A huge welcome to the East Coast Heritage site! This site was created out of love for everything that makes our East Coast wonderful. The plan is to share information on our heritage, culture, slang, sayings, folklore, authentic foods, interesting places and the stuff we do. In the process; we hope to create a community of like minded people and an avenue to celebrate anything that influenced that.

Heritage

Who we are, what we say and how we say it is deep rooted from our early ancestors. Our heritage and culture have impacted the traditions and sayings we know today. In earlier days; it was regular practice for families and friends to gather at socials in their communities. This is when tradition and culture was shared and got passed along to each generation. Of course; its all by word of mouth and some of that got lost along the way. My intention is to reminisce about our heritage and the slang sayings we all share. The reflecting back and remembering will be sure to make you smile!

East Coast Lingo

We all have sayings and slang familiar to us from our home life and the communities we grew up in. These sayings; and the slang that goes with it, may vary depending on where you come from. The accents and dialects from each province sure puts an interesting spin to it all. Even if we don’t notice; we do have accents. When you speak we all have a pretty good idea where you’re from. Slang sayings evolve with time, gets forgotten and some are just no longer popular. Have you forgotten some of your fond sayings and miss hearing it? So lets celebrate us and share our memories.
